They posed together for the cover of Entertainment Weekly and it looked as if they were perfect match to play their roles in the movie. The novel has millions of fans and their awesome look on the cover page captured the minds of many fans and has given them a satisfactory feeling.

‘50 Shades of Grey’ movie delayed till 2015 after actor switch

If there is one movie that has been in the news for its pre-production episodes as much as for its tumultuous casting ups and downs, it has to be ’50 shades of Grey’. Based on the novel by E.L. James, this erotic piece revolves around the sadomasochistic love affair between billionaire, debonair businessman and petite college student Anastasia Steele. Though the relationship is bound by non-disclosure agreements from Grey’s end, the docile college girl who is seduced by the charms of this dapper businessman probably ends up expecting a lot more and that is how she ends up hurting herself.

With such a seductive and passionate storyline, readers were already hopeful of their choices for Mr. Grey. But quite surprisingly the role first went to the ‘Sons of Anarchy’ regular cast member, Charlie Hunnam but he supposedly ‘got cold feet’ and backed out of the project only recently. This sudden overture, send the fans of ‘50 Shades’ and Charlie Hunnam into a fit, till the role went to a former Calvin Klein model, Jamie Dornan. Though February is the month of love and to some, the story of Ana and Christian is a love story, still, it is not known when in February is this film finally going to see the light of day. Some sources have hinted that it might be the eponymous day of love or Valentine’s Day. And some quarters are saying that it can be either a day before or after Valentine’s Day. The shy and docile Anastasia Steele slowly falls for the suave businessman but at the end of the first part of the 50 shades trilogy, ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’, it is Anastasia Steele who leaves Christian Grey knowing only well that this arrangement and a relationship literally and figuratively bound by non-disclosure agreements might not work.

‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ offers a different dimension to the acting capabilities of Katie Holmes and although the character Elena Lincoln is as dark and manipulative as Christian, she is also essentially the femme fatale of the novel and the ‘50 Shades movie. The character in the novel, Mrs. Robinson is a natural blonde and is in her late 30s and early 40s; two of these components can be challenging for Katie Holmes, since she is not a natural blonde and is only 34 years old. But if the rumor mills and the grapevine is to be believed, she is going all out to make herself as close to the character as possible, even possibly suggesting that she might turn blonde to fit the bill.

The bitter divorce might have left the mother of one with a bad taste in the mouth but the ‘50 Shades’ movie, is touted to be her ticket back to mainstream Hollywood. And if her efforts are anything to go by, she will make a ravishing and a delicious Elena Lincoln as Mrs. Robinson.

“50 Shades Movie” finds Christian’s romantic rival – Victor Rasuk will play Ana’s college friend Jose

              

In the E. L. James novel “Fifty Shades of Grey”, the sparks are set to fly between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. But there is another relationship which has the potential of sparking a different kind of equation. The relationship between Christian and Jose is far from romantic. In fact both have their eyes on the leading lady Ana. It is Ana who has to decide who will get her heart. But even when she starts a physical relationship with Christian bordering on BDSM, he does not want it to be a romantic relationship.The casting team of “Fifty Shades of Grey” has won another pat on their backs for choosing an actor like Victor Rasuk for the role. Choosing Victor for this role is all the more significant because they would need an actor who fits the description and the cultural bill of the character of Jose Rodriguez. And all this and more is present in oodles in Victor. The third wheel of the novel and the film adaptation, Victor comes from a Dominican background and with his Latin American/Spanish looks (not stereotypical though), is one of the better parts of the venture so far.Though the movie and the book are both billed as an erotic love story, the theme of friendship is also masterfully entwined within the plot. The friendship that Ana shares with Kate and Jose makes up for an interesting premise of the novel. Though the friendship that Jose has for Ana borders on love and infatuation, it is never truly explored in the novel, and the readers probably go home with the idea that Christian wins on account of his mysterious ways and the raw power he exhibits in the boardroom and the bedroom. But hopefully, Victor’s portrayal of Jose will win some sympathizers for the latter.The clash between the two alpha males of the novel, Christian and Jose, is introduced in a subtle manner by the author, when Christian goes on a coffee date with Ana right after the photo shoot with Jose, Ana and Kate, and asks her if she is dating someone. By someone, he meant Jose. Probably he had sensed that Jose would be a strong contender as a love interest of Ana. The chemistry between Jose, Kate and Ana seemingly borders on the platonic but Jose has an anguished lover’s heart that beats for Anastasia Steele, which can be sniffed out by the other strong contender, Christian. If only, Ana would have sensed it and shared the feelings.
