‘Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Cast Celebrates Luke Grimes' Birthday

The “Fifty Shades...” cast got a taste of a little celebration when they got together to celebrate the 30th birthday of fellow cast member, Luke Grimes. Luke, like Jamie Dornan has been a regularly watched face on the television as he appeared in the television series, “True Blood” and “Brothers & Sisters”. The actor, celebrated his birthday on the 21^st of this month with fellow cast members. Rita Ora, Max Martini, Marcia Gay Harden and the author of the trilogy, Erica James were all present at Yaletown restaurant to have some food and peach schnapps and celebrate his birthday in a good old fashion with food and drinks and of course plenty of snaps. 

It was Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden, who circulated the snaps through her Twitter account and now that the actor is a part of the film that has got everybody talking, he can expect glorious things to come his way, in his career of course. The now 30 year old actor plays the role of Elliot Grey in the movie version of “FiftyShades....” and is the adopted brother of the self made billionaire Christian Grey. Incidentally, Luke aka Elliott falls for Kate Kavanagh, who happens to be the best friend and the roommate of Anastasia Steele, the same girl, Christian Grey falls for and eventually develops a relationship with.

Eventually, in the course of the trilogy, both the brothers get married to their love interests, but that happens over the course of the next two novels, which, chances are, you might not get a taste of in this movie adaptation, as this one concentrates on the first novel itself. Though there were rumours that this movie will see an amalgamation of all the three novels, and this rumour was sparked when news surfaced that the cast and the production team was heading to Spain, especially the Canary Islands to shoot the honeymoon scenes. Now for anyone who has read the trilogy, he/she knows that the honeymoon scenes occur only in the third novel of the trilogy. 

Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Shooting Back In Vancouver

Having started the filming of the movie adaptation of the steamy and racy Fifty Shades of Grey movie by Erica James in Vancouver, in November, the actors and the crew had to face a wrathful and vindictive weather when the polar vortex started affecting huge climatic changes in the USA and Canada. Forced by the fury of nature, the cast and crew if this Sam Taylor-Jonson directed movie had to take a break for two weeks. And since it was the holiday season, nobody complained. The author and one of the producers, Erica James, spent the holidays with her husband and two sons, while the lead pair of Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, who plays the roles of Ana and Christian in the movie, was also busy with their families.

Ana aka Dakota was reportedly seen spending time with her sisters and mother and also spent some alone time her real life Christian Grey, Jordan Masterson. Jamie Dornan became a first time father in December and his wife and he welcomed home their baby daughter. So, this break would have definitely given some family time to the Irish hunk, so that he could cuddle his newborn a little more. The other Grey, Mia Grey that is, who will be played by Rita Ora, was also seen partying with her friends in London, before she got called to Vancouver, to start her leg of the shoot. Now that the holidays are over and the weather gods are also in a better mood, the cast and the crew are back in Vancouver to continue with the shoot so that the already much delayed film, does not get delayed any further.

The film was earlier set to release in August 2014, which is considered a good time for the movies since it is spring and people are generally fond of going to the movies with their families this time of the year. Though we can’t really pitch “Fifty Shades....” as a family movie, some think that the now decided February 2015 release will be better for this love story of sorts. The film is scheduled to release on the 13^th of February 2015, just a day before Valentine’s. We can only hope that lovers and couples, who wish to draw inspiration from this movie to make their relationship as erotic, titillating and racy as the one Christian and Ana have must make a beeline for this movie. With their return to Vancouver, the stars have started shooting crucial scenes.

The latest additions in the list of crucial scenes shot by the cast include the scene where Grey presents Ana with a brand new red Audi car because he thinks that her old VW is not safe enough. In 50shades movie scenes, the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Dan Johnson was seen soaked in rain, and then again with a cuppa of coffee in her hands, as she was joined by Christian Grey’s body guard and man-Friday, played by Max Martini. It seems that the cast is in full on action mode and like always, we are not complaining! 

Fifty Shades of Grey film ‘will not condense three books into one movie’

The widely acclaimed “Fifty shades of grey movie” trilogy which made the author Erica James the highest earning author last year, was recently caught in the centre of some uncomfortable news. No sooner had the news spread that the lead pair of the film adaptation of the movie, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson were heading to Spain to shoot the crucial honeymoon scenes for the movie, the rumour mills started working overtime to find out what the issue at hand was. It was, according to some sources, that the trilogy was to be shrunk into one movie, which would chart Ana and Grey’s journey from BDSM obsessed partners to husband and wife.

But quite contrary to what we have been hearing, Erica James, recently took to twitter to clear the air about the proceedings. She has definitely and clearly indicated that, the trilogy would be filmed in three versions, that is, “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed” would have their own film versions and Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson would reprise their roles in these films too. Coming straight from the author who not only created these characters, but also opened up public opinion to BDSM inspired lovemaking. Bringing the Red Room of Pain closer to the reader, Erica introduced characters which are very much capable of creating a fan following of their own as many have already seen.

The first instalment of the erotic love story will release in February 2015 and though it was scheduled to release sometime earlier, the uneventful walking away of Charlie Hunnam, the previous Mr. Grey, from the project left it stranded for some time, till Jamie Dornan put on the sharp suits and the shoes of Christian Grey and saved us all. The audience has been particularly receptive of the new Christian Grey and they don’t seem to get enough of him and his spanking chemistry with co-star, Dakota Johnson, who plays the servile, naive and subservient, submissive partner, Anastasia Steele. Though it was reported that the pair were going on a trip to Spain to shoot the honeymoon scenes, Twitter has helped Erica James dispel all such rumours that would indicate that this version of the movie would be a condensed form of all the three books.

The movie, which is based on the sexual experiments and the fetishes of the inexperienced and virginal beauty Ana and the experienced and practiced Christian Grey, has a lot of action packed in the pages and it would be a waste of artistic and creative talent if the readers and the fans are left high and dry with hopes that their love story with the three part novel would end so unceremoniously and before time. Thankfully, the fans have much to look forward to and should also thank Erica James for coming clean about the fate of this love story. Since Erica James is also a producer, you can leave it in her able hands and pens do make the stars sign the dotted line and appear again as the Ana and Grey you want them to be. 

‘Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Trailers Released: Watch Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson

Not only the fans but also the followers of “Fifty Shades” have been following the developments in the movie which is being made, as and when they happen and it comes as no surprise when some fan comes up with a new fan made trailer. The trailers are usually so authentic that you might mistake them to be originals and straight out from the stables of the studios or the producers, but if you look closely you will see that most of these actually contain the previous works of Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, assimilated seamlessly. They play the parts of Christian Grey; a billionaire with a penchant for BDSM inspired lovemaking and the coy and virginal college graduate Anastasia Steele, who becomes his servile partner in the scheme of things.

Ever since Dakota Johnson was signed onto the project to play the role of the demure and coy college student Anastasia who unknowingly and almost unwittingly gets embroiled in the ‘Grey’ world of BDSM lovemaking, some fans of the Twilight Fan fiction, penned by Erica James have dissented and disagreed with the choice of the casting team. And the same thing happened when “Sons of Anarchy” star, Charlie Hunnam was chosen to play the role of Christian Grey opposite her. But since the English actor exited the movie citing non-availability of dates due to his commitment to the television series, and Jamie Dornan was signed on to play the role of the self made millionaire; speculation has been going strong about this new pair.

The film will definitely involve a lot of romp and skin show and when you put two such good looking people together in the Red Room of Pain, all you get is all you want. The erotic and sexually charged novels written by English author Erica James has been a major money churner for the publishing house and the author herself and when you become the highest earning author of the year, you can fairly understand the kind of adulation that the fans are willing to bestow on you. Be it the movie trailers or the first pictures of the shoot which have been leaked, all we can say is that the pair looks impressive and the chemistry between Ana and Grey played by Johnson and Dornan is not only palpable but also striking.

The film Fifty shades Of Grey which is already making headlines for its NC-17 rating is due to release in February 2015 and before that you can catch these fan made trailers, if you are unwilling to wait for that long, but anyways it is too soon to expect a trailer from the producers. When you see the way the couple have cuddled up and cosied up in each other’s arms and the way they have used ties, you will never be able to wear one or look at one in the same way again. Here is hoping that they can do justice to Erica’s creations, in every position and posture (pun intended)!
